The coast is yours

Public rights is a well established principle of access to and use of nature in Norway. This also applies to the sea.

There is free access to the sea and everyone can reap the vast resources along the coast at no charge. But there are some simple rules that must be followed. The most important are the equipment limitations, minimum catch sizes and a limit to how much recreational fishermen can sell. The rules for persons living in Norway and foreign tourists are somewhat different.
