The University Centre in Svalbard

The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) is the world's northernmost university and specializes in Arctic research in biology, geology, geophysics and technology. UNIS offers terms and courses at the bachelor, master and PhD level. UNIS is Norway's most international educational institution, with 50 percent international students and scholars. All instruction is in English. 

UNIS is a state-owned limited liability company in which the University of Oslo, the University of Bergen, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and University of Tromsø are represented on the Board.

Sharing data from unique science survey

Some 100 scientists and technicians involved with a collaborative research expedition on the RV Lance in 2015 are now working on their findings at Norwegian and foreign institutes.
